San Francisco Friends School undertook a remarkable endeavor by transforming the historic Levi Strauss building, constructed in 1908, into a vibrant K-8 educational institution. The conversion of the Levi Strauss building into a modern academic facility by San Francisco Friends School is a testament to blending preservation with innovation. Through a dedication to sustainability and educational excellence, the school offers students a supportive and stimulating environment for learning, exploration, and growth. This ambitious adaptive reuse project revitalized the 80,000-square-foot structure, breathing new vitality into its historic architecture and repurposing it to meet the evolving educational needs of students in San Francisco, California.

From thermal towers to a radiant heating system controlled by a Building Management System (BMS), using natural resources and passive systems ensures optimal performance, surpassing Title 24 baseline standards by 17.3%.
