Description

The firm provided engineering design services for the Western Municipal Water District (WMWD) Operations building, a single-story structure spanning 20,400 SF. This facility features a 5,400 square foot administration building, tailored to accommodate training for WMWD's operations employees with a training room equipped with a comprehensive AV system capable of hosting sessions for up to 30 employees, and the flexibility to partition into five separate rooms and doubles as WMWD's emergency operations center, fortified with emergency power generation capabilities from a newly installed 500 KW on-site generator. Additional amenities include an employee kitchen and dining area, locker rooms with showers, a uniform receiving area, supervisor offices, a public conference room, and a dedicated space for WMWD's infrastructure monitoring system.

Adjacent to the administration building stands the 38’ tall 15,000 SF Maintenance facility. This building serves as the hub for WMWD's vehicle and sewer/water equipment maintenance. It boasts 16 roll-up doors, three vehicle lifts, equipment for tire changing and brake maintenance, oil storage tanks, a compressed air system, and a 6-ton bridge crane extending the building's entire length, seven interior workshops, an office, a break room, a shower room, and storage for auto parts. Both buildings are serviced with uninterrupted power with standby generation. The entire facility is engineered to operate with markedly reduced water consumption for both domestic use and irrigation. High-efficiency HVAC units, coupled with carbon dioxide sensors, have been strategically installed to enhance energy performance.
