Description

The Western Municipal Water District project in Riverside, California, comprises two buildings that support the district's operations and administrative functions. The first building is a 12,500-square-foot maintenance facility housing workshops and service bays, while the second is an administrative building featuring office spaces, meeting rooms, training facilities, and restrooms with showers and locker rooms. Reflecting the essence of water, the design theme incorporates undulating curves and a soft blue color palette, with ample natural light streaming in through strategically placed skylights.

Highlights

  • The project prioritizes sustainability, incorporating uninterruptible power with standby generation features, significantly reduced water usage for domestic and irrigation systems, and high-efficiency HVAC units equipped with carbon dioxide sensors to optimize energy performance.

  • The facility has earned a LEED Silver rating by meeting rigorous sustainability standards, underscoring its commitment to environmental stewardship and energy efficiency.

  • The administrative building boasts versatile spaces, including a large training room equipped with full projection and audio capabilities. This ensures that the district's staff has access to state-of-the-art facilities for meetings, training sessions, and day-to-day operations.

  • Garden courtyards within the complex provide tranquil outdoor spaces for relaxation and reflection, enhancing the overall well-being of staff and visitors.
